With the majority of the UK confined to home, now is a good time to check that your car is staying healthy during isolation, too.
With the exception of key workers, the majority of us are now only venturing out for basic essentials - meaning your car is probably parked up for a lot longer than it is used to. Here are some handy tips for keeping your car healthy during isolation:
- If your car is stood still for any great length of time, you may be risking a flat battery when you need it next. Consider starting your car and letting the engine run for 10 to 15 minutes every few days to top up the charge. Of course, if you're going to do this, it is important that the car is not left unattended for security reasons, and it should not be left running in a confined space (such as a garage).
- Live in a multiple-car household? As you are travelling less often, consider alternating between vehicles for your essential journeys, to keep them all running smoothly.
- Time for a spring clean! Now is the ideal time to give your car a bit of extra care and attention. Maybe you've been meaning to re-tune your radio pre-sets, or find the button that turns off your parking sensors? Perhaps you've got adaptive cruise control, but don't know how to use it? Don't put it off any longer. If you can't find the answer in your handbook, we're always contactable at sales@cropley-motors.co.uk.
Try these tips and check in on your Suzuki regularly to make sure she's ready to go when you are.
It has been fantastic, and truly inspiring, watching the country pull together as one. Although we may be in for another few weeks of lockdown yet, we are thoroughly looking forward to getting back to back to business when we can.
Remember, we are always contactable. Should you have any questions while we are closed, you can call/text Gavin Angood on 07811 345273, or you can email us at
